Logo & Branding | e-Commerce Website Design | Business Stationery | Product Design | Packaging Design | Print & Digital Adverts

Birthday Weather is a Yeovil based business which works with the Met Office to create beautiful gifts using their vast weather chart archive. They needed a logo and complete brand identity along with product design and packaging. I took on the website too, eventually completely rebuilding it and redesigningthe look and structure to make it intuitive to use and in line with the brand. Birthday Weather Logo Design DorsetDigiwool designed a ‘ground-up’ brand identity that needed to encompass 140 years of heritage yet maintain a modern look. You’ll see the emblem contains a cupcake, thunder cloud and lightning strike and is a monogram of BW. Both the emblem and the wordmark contain falling precipitation to reference the weather-related nature of the business and suggest a vintage, worn look.

As well as the brand, I also designed the complete range of Birthday Weather products, product packaging, digital and print adverts, social media images.

This included the designs for three styles of weather chart mugs each with twelve variations, one for each decade; the designs for weather chart prints (again twelve variations); mousemats; calendars; bookmarks; greetings cards; posters; corporate mugs and prints; advertisements. I came up with the slogan ‘The Weather Mapped and Wrapped’, and conceptualised all of the products, such as the ‘Made with British Rain’ series.

The Met Office archive contains charts dating from 1872 through to the present day and each decade has a different design format for the charts and maps so it was quite a challenge planning and implementing designs for all of the decades.

Here’s what Birthday Weather said about my work:

“We have employed the services of Matt at Digiwool to produce our two websites and many graphic design projects, over the last three years. Matt is a very skilled graphic / web designer and the projects he has done for us have always been produced on time and to the agreed budget.

Matt lays out his initial ideas for the initial proofing process and works with us and our clients during this process to create the final signed off design. He has a great understanding of the printing processes available and applies this in his designs. Matt is a very competent and skilled graphic designer and website developer and I would highly recommend him. ”
